Hello, dears! I thought, maybe this time I could be more organized around holidays, and that is only because I would like to enjoy them even more. This is exactly why I started working on my to-do lists long before I thought I would have! My no.1 get-things-done-help is Starbucks. We have been through a lot, which proved to me it really is a friend indeed.
Even if the weather outside reminds us of spring, rather than winter, Frank Sinatra and his beautiful Christmas Carols have already been playing in my car for a while. Let’s, then, see what we have to do:
- Make a list of the things you would like to get this Christmas and try to buy yourself the one which will make you the happiest. I have already bought myself some nice things and I also added some me-time on my schedule. It is a damn good gift, believe me!
- Plan your job-related activities in such a way that they will not disturb you that much during holidays. Make sure they can make it without you there J
- Think about who you would love to get a present for and go get it now, don’t postpone it until the 24th!
- Make your parents a surprise. It is extremely important not to forget to thank the dear ones in our lives, and parents will always appreciate it the most!
- Try to stay away from the stressful activities for as long as possible. Enjoy each holiday moment, return phonecalls whenever you feel like it, spend as little time on Facebook as possible, truly listen to and interact with the ones around you!
- Prepare something new! Cooking with your family is highly exciting. The image of all family members working together towards preparing the most delicious meal will turn into a happy memory which you will visit for a long time, believe me.
- Spend New Year’s Eve however you wish to. Forget all stereotypes and do whatever it is that makes you happy. If you feel like staying home, stay; if you feel like going out, go out. Don’t let anyone lead.
- Conduct a personal experiment: exchange negativity with joy, for once. Instead of mumbling angrily when listening to carols while shopping, try listening to the lyrics; instead of getting annoyed in traffic, try looking at the people walking rapidly and stressed because of not having found the present they were looking for; instead of being anxious about not having what to wear at new year’s eve party, remember: you will look astonishing, anyway; it’s all in the attitude. And if you get a present you do not like, remember: he/she thought about you for a while and invested both time and energy towards getting something for you.
- Write Santa Claus a letter in which he can find all your 2016 wishes and also, thank him for everything he has given you in 2015. I have just finished mine. I promise to upload it tomorrow!
- Watch a good film. It is well known that films are just another empathy stimulus. I recommend any other one in the 250 IMDB top which you can find here.
Since these sunny days are anything but boring, I chose a likewise outfit: ragged boyfriend jeans, manly shirt and a colorful vest, handmade by my dear friend, Cristina. This look is as street-like as possible, and the shoes as high as possible! My hair is disheveled, my glasses are on, and the coffee right where it belongs: glued to my hand. I am hitting the road. I’m visiting my mother for a few days, bye-bye, Bucharest!
