When it comes to Greece, I think that it’s worth every year to take 3-4 days of summer off and go see a little of it. This year I went to Ouranopolis, mainly to visit Mount Athos and to enjoy the positive energy of this place. I found here peace and a zen that disconnected me completely from the crowded days of Bucharest. I took with me a few shirts and summerish and vintage outfits. That was my inspiration in making my baggage and it seemed to fit perfectly into the landscape.
Some of the reasons that I recommend this destination:
1. It’s a country with breathtaking landscapes, is close to Romania and you can get there relatively quickly by car. I prefer to do this because I love to drive, the road is ok and I love the holiday atmosphere. In fact, it is more convenient to walk around and go from a beach to another in the Greek islands when you feel like it.
2. The water. It is absolutely fabulous, scuba diving should not be missed, you can see an octopus or you can actually pry into the world of the multicolored goldfish that look like drawn from fairy tales. For me the feeling that I have when I jump off a cruise ship in the middle of the sea is irreplaceable. You should try it!
3. The food . Especially for the seafood lovers, vegetables, ice cream and all kind of extremely tasty dishes. The Greek cuisine is delicious, they have very good wine, friendly taverns, accompanied by the sunset and the sound of the waves … this can make a special evening.
4. Quality-price ratio is unmatched to our own seaside. I love spontaneous weekends in Mamaia or in Vama, but relaxation works better for me here and I let the fun for Romania.
5. The contact with a different culture is interesting. I don’t think that I will see everything in this world, but traveling is a part in the joy of life, and as long as I can I will visit other countries. Meeting different people makes me curious and challenges me. The language, the cuisine, their customs, the way they behave, everything.
